Context

Oxfam Consults is an initiative that aims to share Oxfam’s expertise with the wider aid sector. As our work expands, we are seeking volunteers to support the Oxfam Consults Business Development team.

What will the role involve?

Tasks will include administrative support to the Business Development team.

Depending on the volunteer’s skills and interests, this can include any of the following:

Business Development and Administration

  • Search for commercial opportunities that Oxfam Consults could apply to.
  • Support with drafting contracts.
  • Communicate with our consultants.
  • Support with obtaining references for consultants.
  • Proof-read documents.

Data Entry and Information Management

  • Help maintain a tracking list for Expressions of Interest, Bids and Contracts and enter relevant information into project management systems and Excel sheets.
  • Help curate a detailed list of past projects.
  • Assist with filing and keeping Box folders organised.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks, as and when needed.

Communications and Social Media

  • Plan and deliver content for distribution on the Oxfam Consults social media platforms and website using Adobe Express or Creative Cloud.
  • Generate ideas to contribute to the Oxfam Consults communication strategy, including external engagement with consultants and clients.

Core skills and experience

  • Understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Good prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm to support Oxfam’s goals, commitment to Oxfam’s values of accountability, inclusiveness and empowerment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive situations in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with people from different backgrounds.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Proficient level in foreign languages, especially French and/or Spanish.
  • Basic Adobe graphic design experience
