Youth Volunteer Supervisor
Keeping our volunteers safe, and making sure they are supported during their time with us, is core to all our volunteering opportunities. We’re looking for friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a difference in their community by offering supervision and support to our young volunteers.
You don't need any experience, as we provide full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a passion for helping people, you’ll fit right in!
By volunteering with us in one of our amazing retail spaces, you'll raise essential funds for Oxfam – whilst learning new skills and meeting some incredible people.
What you'll be doing
- Supervising the young people who volunteer in our shops
- Supporting the Shop Management Team in ensuring a supportive volunteering opportunity for volunteers under the age of 18
- Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock
- Chatting to customers, giving great service on the till
- Researching valuable and vintage stock
- Visual merchandising: creating eye-catching window and in-store displays
- Photographing and listing items for the online shop
This role might include occasionally lifting boxes. We prioritise a safe working environment and provide comprehensive health and safety training to all volunteers.
The skills you need
You don't need specific skills and experience, as we provide training, but the following will be useful:
- Commitment to Oxfam’s values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusiveness
- Ability to volunteer within Oxfam’s policies and shop guidelines
- We ask that you be reliable and on time for your volunteering
- Happy to be part of a team and collaborate effectively with others
- Confident in communicating with others

Additional information
You will need to undertake a DBS/PVG check prior to commencing in this role. This will be undertaken by Oxfam.
