At Oxfam Cymru, we believe that young people have the power to help Wales become a globally responsible nation. Education has a crucial role to play in achieving change which is why Oxfam supports education for global citizenship; encouraging children and young people to learn, think and act on global issues.
A core purpose of the new curriculum in Wales is to support children and young people to become ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world. We create free bilingual teaching resources which help engage young people about the world around them. Our resources can support teachers to integrate global learning with the Literacy and Numeracy Framework, and develop the skills needed for young
people to take on the Welsh Baccalaureate Global Citizenship Challenge.
We offer workshops to enrich teaching practice and create opportunities so that young people can put their learning into practice. We work through the Global Learning Wales alliance to make sure that education for global citizenship is at the heart of the national curriculum in Wales.
