Explore Our Retail Volunteer Roles
Oxfam shops are powered by passionate volunteers who believe in a fairer world without poverty. By giving your time in one of our vibrant charity shops, you’ll help raise vital funds for life-changing work – while gaining new skills, meeting like-minded people, and making a real impact in your community.
Whether you're sorting donations, creating eye-catching displays, chatting with customers, or managing the till, there’s a role for everyone. No experience needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.
Ready to be part of something bigger? Explore our retail volunteer roles and join the movement to fight poverty with love.

We’re seeking friendly, reliable people who want to make a difference in their community. No prior experience is needed, as we provide full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a passion for helping people, you’ll fit right in!

As an E-Commerce Volunteer you’ll be behind the scenes in our busy shops or hubs, learning all about selling donated gems through Oxfam’s unique Online Shop. You can get involved in everything from researching, describing, photographing, to posting.

Oxfam shops have a long tradition of selling second-hand books and we receive lots of generous donations. There is a massive range in the value of the books we handle: from paperback novels which sell for a few pounds to valuable collectible items which may sell for thousands of pounds.

If you have a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, you can make an even greater impact by becoming a volunteer driver. Our drivers play a crucial role in collecting and transporting donations between homes, businesses, and Oxfam shops. This flexible role is perfect for those who enjoy being on the move, meeting new people, and making a tangible difference.

We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a difference in their community by helping their local Oxfam shop to stay open for as long possible. We need people to open and close the shop, and ensure volunteers know what tasks to undertake so the shop can run smoothly.

We welcome young volunteers from age 14, and our shops provide a perfect setting to fulfil the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s volunteering and work experience requirements - helping you boost your CV, build confidence and learn practical retail skills.
