Stop arming Israel: sign our petition now

  • Day after day we have watched atrocities in Palestine unfold on our screens, as the Israeli government crosses red line after red line with impunity.
  • Now the escalating violence across the wider region has entered a new and dangerous phase.
  • In Lebanon we are seeing Israeli forces using the Gaza playbook with an intense bombing campaign and hundreds of thousands of people forced to flee.
  • The UK government must stop ALL arms sales and military support to Israel now, and end its complicity in these atrocities.

UK government must immediately stop all arms sales to Israel

International law should not be optional. It is a red line that should never be crossed.

Yet the Israeli government is still committing genocide in Gaza – indiscriminate attacks on homes, schools, hospitals, and refugee camps continue. Life-saving aid is still being blocked. Meanwhile, Palestinians in the West Bank face violent displacement and the destruction of their economy.

What we’re witnessing is the systematic destruction of a people’s ability to live, to hope, to exist.

And now Israeli forces are using the same playbook in Lebanon. Attacking civilians, critical civilian infrastructure, emergency services personnel and aid workers. Aiming to maximize disruption and fear among the population, while ignoring international law.

The international community must stand up for international law – it cannot stand by and let what is happening in Gaza continue, or be repeated in Lebanon. Yet, the UK government continues to be complicit in Israel’s atrocities.

It has fuelled the violence by continuing to allow arms sales and other military support to the Israeli forces. This includes parts for the F-35 fighter jets that have dropped bombs on civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.

The government must not prioritise perceived security or economic advantage over its legal and moral obligations.

We must stand together in solidarity and draw our own red line that cannot be crossed. Sign the petition to call for an end to all UK arms sales and military support to Israel NOW.

“We are urging you to immediately stop all arms licences and exports to the Government of Israel. This is just one crucial step towards a permanent ceasefire for all Palestinians and Israelis.

According to our laws, the UK Government must stop issuing licences for arms sales if there is a clear risk they might be used to commit serious violations of international humanitarian law.

Since this escalation started, the Government has issued around 100 new licences allowing UK companies to sell arms to Israel. During this same time, the Israeli forces have killed Palestinian civilians indiscriminately. The Israeli government has been deliberately depriving people in Gaza of the essentials they need to survive.

The International Court of Justice has ruled there is a risk of a genocide in Gaza, and war crimes and crimes against humanity are also being committed.

By continuing to sell arms to Israel, the UK has been complicit in the killing of civilians in Gaza. You have the opportunity to act now and do the right thing: end arms sales to Israel immediately.

Everyone in Gaza is in need of humanitarian assistance, but ongoing restrictions and attacks have made it challenging for humanitarian organisations to respond fully. To stop the cycle of death and destruction, and get aid to those who need it, the UK must play its part in securing a permanent ceasefire – starting by ending all arms sales to Israel now.

Only then can the hard work of building accountability, justice, and lasting peace for Palestinians and Israelis start.

We ask you to:

  • Immediately suspend all arms licences and exports to the Government of Israel.
  • Do everything in your power to help bring about an immediate and permanent ceasefire.”

Petitions are an important way to show how many people care about an issue.

This is one powerful tactic to put pressure on decision makers. Whether by getting media attention, supporting our public campaigning activity, or helping us to show the government that they would have public support to make certain changes.

The louder we raise our collective voice, the harder we are to ignore.
