A star-studded line up of celebrities including Radio 1 DJ Vick Hope, Sex Education actor George Robinson and Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden shone the spotlight on second-hand fashion in Oxfam’s show at London Fashion Week tonight. All of the catwalk outfits are now available to buy on Oxfam’s Online ‘wardrobe’ Shop with Vinted.
Taking place at the Ambika P3 art gallery, Oxfam’s show Style for Change spotlighted the finest sustainable clothing with a show of all pre-loved clothes styled by the pioneer of thrifting, stylist Bay Garnett. The show took place as new Oxfam research reveals that two thirds of people – 65 per cent - in the UK own second-hand clothing, while one in 10 say the majority of the clothes they buy in the next 12 months will be second-hand.
Every outfit on the catwalk – worn by the likes of The Umbrella Academy actor Robert Sheehan, Saturday’s singer Frankie Bridge, renowned fashion designer Katharine Hamnett and Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni – is now up for grabs on Oxfam’s online ‘wardrobe’ shop on second-hand marketplace, Vinted, who proudly partnered with Oxfam on the show.
All the money raised from the clothes will support Oxfam’s work tackling poverty and inequality around the world.
The show – which called for people to ‘Dress for the world they want, for everyone, everywhere’ – was a part of Oxfam’s Second Hand September campaign, which launched in 2019 to encourage people to shop second-hand and strive for a more sustainable fashion industry.

Stylist Bay Garnett said: “Tonight was absolutely incredible. Seeing all the looks on the runway is always one of my favourite bits of the whole process. It’s nights like these that prove why second-hand always works and why I love it – the mix, and something for everyone.”
Dragons Den star, Deborah Meaden, said: “We know that the fashion industry is having a huge impact on our planet, which is exactly why we need to be talking about sustainable clothes. Having a fashion show like this proves that second-hand clothing is not only stylish and great value-for-money, but it helps the planet. It was a bit out of my comfort zone to take part in a runway show at London Fashion Week - but it was fantastic and we definitely proved the power of pre-loved clothing tonight."
BBC Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter, Vick Hope, said: “It definitely feels like there is a real shift happening, where people are finally seeing how fabulous second-hand shopping is, particularly pre-loved clothing! The beauty of shopping in places like Oxfam is that you never know what you might find and it’ll be completely unique; as well as being new to you, these clothes have stories to tell, and more life to live and be loved. It’s important to try to make changes where we can for the sake of our planet - buying or donating our unwanted clothes so other people can feel great in them is one of the little economical things each of us can do. It just makes sense!”
Kehinde Brown, Oxfam’s Strategic Communications Lead, directed the fashion show. She said: “The show this evening was everything we hoped it would be and more. There is something truly magical about the power of second-hand and tonight showed us that. Now, more than ever, we need to style for change for the sake of our planet and people. This is the future of fashion."
Marianne Gybels, Vinted’s Senior Director of Sustainability, said: “The show tonight has been truly inspiring. It did a fantastic job of highlighting the creativity, beauty and potential of second-hand fashion. This partnership with Oxfam allows us to emphasise the importance of making pre-loved clothing accessible and appealing for everyone. By making these looks available on Vinted, we continue to show that second-hand fashion is not just a trend but a powerful movement towards a more sustainable fashion industry, and anyone can join!”
