Oxfam welcomes new minister for development and Africa

The UK must do things differently to maintain credibility on the world stage, build resilience to climate shocks, and play a leading role in tackling poverty, inequality and conflict. We hope the Minister will champion the need to restore the development budget to 0.7%, and, crucially, ensure UK development policy prioritises the poorest, especially women and girls who make up 70% of the world's poorest people, by moving power and resources to local communities.”
