Earlier this year, the Board of Trustees commissioned an Independent Review to establish whether the Board followed the Trustee Code of Conduct and formal governance processes surrounding and following the announcement of the former Oxfam GB CEO’s departure.
The Independent Review, completed by Rebecca Tuck KC, concluded that those Trustees with the responsibility to deal with the matter acted in good faith and within their powers.
While the delegated Trustees acted within its powers and in good faith, that the events played out in public remains of huge regret.
Given current circumstances, including wider ongoing legal proceedings, further or fuller disclosure of the full review would be inappropriate.
The Board takes seriously its commitment to upholding the highest standards and will continue to learn lessons from these events.
As a Board, our priority remains ensuring Oxfam’s charitable objectives are upheld.
