No more radio silence

Turn up, tune in and speak out: join a movement of people raising their voices.

While Palestine continues to suffer under violent occupation and genocide, in Sudan and South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yemen and beyond people are facing conflict, displacement and suffering on an enormous scale. But when it comes to these crises, world leaders and the media are choosing radio silence.

This silence is not accidental. It is maintained by those in power, who benefit from keeping people distracted and divided, rather than informed and united.

Join the people’s frequency

Oxfam is building the people’s frequency, a growing movement of people who are turning up, tuning in and speaking out about hidden crises.

On our new pirate-radio inspired platform, we’re telling the story the mainstream media wont – and we need you to turn up the volume. An alternative news source, it brings together music, audio and updates from communities affected by humanitarian crises around the world and gives you opportunities to take action.

Join the movement, get exploring and help us break the radio silence.

The ‘No More Radio Silence’ Hub

On the platform you can:

  • Listen to our ‘(No More) Radio Silence’ track. Turn up the volume, explore the story behind it and share. Created with artists from Palestine, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, it started life with recordings from the fields of Glastonbury Festival and is a call for unity, visibility and resistance, the world needs to hear.
  • Tune into the latest crisis updates, with audio and video story-telling and hear from the people living through them.
  • Use your voice to speak out - sign a political action or support a humanitarian response.

This is a movement that can’t be bought, silenced, or ignored. This is our alternative to the system that is failing us. Let’s make so much noise that every humanitarian crisis becomes impossible to ignore. After all, silence serves the system. It's speaking out that serves us all.

Be part of the solution. Join the people’s frequency today.
