Oxfam Unwrapped: Climate Justice
Climate change is being felt most by people in countries that have done the least to cause the crisis.

Tackling climate change
In Mozambique, women like Adérita are working with community projects to rebuild their lives after repeated floods destroyed their homes and livelihoods.
By taking on roles traditionally reserved for men, she helped construct a local flood shelter, earning an income she used to support her children with food and school fees, while strengthening her community’s resilience to future disasters.
Access to green and affordable energy
In Indonesia, women like Sri Anti are partnering with Gema Alam to build confidence, learn about gender equality and disability rights, and take on new leadership roles.
Through this support, she now leads a village biogas project, strengthening livelihoods, promoting renewable energy, and helping her community build resilience despite the barriers she once faced.
Future-proof farming
In Timor‑Leste, communities are partnering with MANEO and Oxfam to respond to failing harvests caused by unpredictable rains.
Together, they’ve created terraced gardens with shared water tanks and irrigation systems, helping families grow food reliably, strengthen livelihoods, and build resilience so their villages can thrive despite the changing climate.
Fair work, together
Marceline Manirambona is part of a movement in Burundi where small farmers are developing their farming methods to help them earn more and cope with climate change. Oxfam partners like ADISCO, Inades Formation Burundi, and OAP support this project, which aims to make farming more resilient to climate changes.
